Ask what the dashboard actually knows
A central attendance view can show accepted records that have reached the server. It cannot show a punch stored only on a disconnected phone unless some communication has occurred. That distinction matters when a manager compares attendance across sites.
A latest check-in is evidence of a recorded arrival, not proof that someone remains physically present. Attendance is not an emergency muster system or a continuous location service.
Use a careful morning review
Imagine a site expects twelve workers and eight accepted check-ins have arrived. There are four unresolved cases, not necessarily four absences. They might include a missed punch, no attendance, a queued offline capture or a rejected submission.
Scroll the table sideways to read all columns.
| Known information | What remains to investigate |
|---|---|
| Eight received check-ins | Whether those people are still present |
| Four expected workers without a received check-in | Absence, capture failure, delay or another explanation |
| A worker reports a pending capture | Server acceptance still outstanding |
| A received checkout | Whether the complete timesheet has other exceptions |
The expected count may come from the company’s working plan. Do not assume every useful planning metric or automatic shortfall alert exists in the attendance dashboard.
Connect follow-up to a responsible person
Assign a supervisor for each site’s unresolved records. Ask for the relevant work date and evidence, then use the correction flow when a genuine attendance gap needs adjustment. A note in a message thread is not automatically an applied timesheet correction.
When a worker changes sites, confirm the administrative assignment and how the event is attributed. Coordinates cannot independently explain the business reason for a redeployment or the correct billing allocation.
Review access as well as visibility
Attendify separates capabilities for viewing, correcting, approving and exporting. Site scopes restrict supported views, but they do not provide uniform restrictions across every write path, and branch/department-only enforcement has limitations. Review the access boundary before relying on it for sensitive client separation.
Measure useful outcomes
Track your own unresolved records and how long investigation takes. Avoid claiming that a central dashboard necessarily reduces payroll by a particular amount. A lower digital total might indicate missing work records, not a successful control.
