Attendance operations

Field service attendance at assigned customer sites

Capture site-based attendance for technicians and service crews, then review exceptions and prepare hours for the payroll process.

Record attendance where the work begins

Service teams need to distinguish a recorded arrival from an assignment on a schedule. Attendify uses the worker’s personal device to capture a selfie and event location at the assigned site, then validates the submission and makes accepted attendance available for review.

The result can support attendance administration across customer locations. It does not automatically measure time spent on each job, diagnose service quality or calculate a customer invoice.

Example: a technician loses signal after a visit

An onboarded technician records checkout with no internet connection but with a usable location fix. The app can hold that capture locally. The manager sees the last received attendance until synchronization succeeds; a locally pending checkout is not yet a server-accepted record.

If the event is rejected, the worker needs a supervisor contact and a reasoned correction path. The final timesheet should reflect reviewed evidence, not an assumption that an unsynced phone proves absence.

Decide how changing locations will be managed

Workers have site assignments. A new customer location or a mid-day redeployment needs an administrative process; geofences do not automatically discover the correct job or billing code. Confirm who updates the assignment and how the resulting attendance is attributed.

Travel time, call-out premiums, task-level costing, dispatch and route optimization are separate requirements. The current product should not be selected on the assumption that these form part of its attendance capture or daily-hours engine.

Evaluate the complete day

Pilot a normal visit, a site change, poor connectivity and a missed punch. Review the worker experience, supervisor follow-up, daily calculation and export together. Test the actual physical devices and customer-site conditions.

Where a crew cannot use personal phones, discuss alternatives before rollout. Shared-kiosk identification is a controlled online flow intended for a provisioned site device, not a universal offline replacement for every field-worker phone.
