One site device, a different identity flow
An administrator provisions a shared kiosk with its own code and PIN. Once set up, a worker taps Check In or Check Out and completes the camera flow. The device submits a candidate face representation; the server searches eligible enrolled workers assigned to the kiosk’s site.
This is one-to-many identification. On a personal worker device, the worker already claims an identity and optional matching compares against that worker’s reference. These are different processing purposes and different operational decisions.
Controlled availability, with online identification
Kiosk identification is implemented but remains a controlled rollout. It is not automatically available to every new company or unlocked by selecting a public pricing card. Tenant gates, enrollment readiness, notice, calibration and fallback arrangements must be considered before expansion.
The kiosk requires connectivity and does not provide the personal-device offline queue. Mounting a tablet at a gate also does not turn it into access-control hardware or establish that every person passed through a controlled entrance.
Plan for a shift change
Test the actual lighting, camera height, power, network and arrival pattern. Allow for retries and people who cannot or do not use matching. Identification quality depends on enrollment, capture conditions and thresholds; no throughput or recognition percentage is promised here.
Illustrative capacity arithmetic: 40 workers arriving in 10 minutes require an average of four completed interactions per minute. That is a planning input, not a measured Attendify service rate. A pilot must include failures and uneven arrival times.
Provide a usable review path
A rejected match should lead to assistance and an accountable way to record genuine work. Do not make pay depend solely on a biometric result. The current kiosk does not include a general non-biometric worker fallback flow; arrangements need to be agreed before deployment.
Matching uses sensitive templates, and accepted attendance selfies are retained in private storage. Enrollment-template storage does not mean the system stores no photographs. Read the security and data overview and assess the proposed processing with the appropriate privacy and workforce stakeholders.
